Does anyone know if you can get a tuning box or chip for the older TDi Focus diesels? I quite fancy one but was a bit put off with the standard 90 bhp and 12.5 0-60 time (I know 0-60 isnt everything, but its a pretty good indicator this will be quite a slow car presumeably).

I don't know if anyone does proper remapping, you could try Superchips for their "bluefin" serial-port programming or maybe Jabbasport.

People seem to prefer custom remaps, they cost about the same as a tuning box and are less crude.

Never read the manufactureres 0-60 times..

I drive a Focus TDi Ghia quite frequently, the 90ps duratec one, and it is quicker to 60 than 12.5 seconds.. i'd say more like 10.5... even if the 0-60 time is slow, the power through 3rd and 4th gear is brilliant!

 

Under £300 gets you an Upsolute remap.

90bhp becomes 112bhp and 148lbs.ft becomes 184.

Motorsport Developments in Blackpool can remap deisels and do so on a regular basis. They should be able to release a few horses....
