Subaru about to be swapped for a soarer

I need to get rid of my scooby and swap it for something fast cheap and cheerful, that won't get to much attention. at the moment I am thinking about a Soarer am I insane ? Has anyone owned one and are they reliable or any good. Not much info on these available.

My parents had one for a while.
4.2l did about 16mp average. engine was sweet. and fully loaded.
but theres the problem, the electric gadgets are not as good as you think, the centrel control screen broke (also a black and white reversing camera), and without this you couldnt tell what the heating radio or anything was doing.
Would of cost nearly 2k to sort out at a specialist.
Nice car but yes I think you are insane if you want a sensible performance car.
And seemed a lot slower than the 535 spot and 540 they had before and after.
I dont know about the 2.5TT version as I hve never been in one.
