Its official.......

Its coming out with a whole load of other so called fast RS fords aka Mondeo ST, Fiesta RS and Focus re-vamped RS...

BUT...

The focus Cosworth is only going to have between 225-250bhp!!!!!!!!

By that time the EVO 8 FQ -380 will have landed and Subaru would most definetely have released some sort of 350+bhp Prodrive limited edition......

And the most funny thing Ford will not be competing with Mitsubishi or Subaru......they are targeting VW Golf GTI and SEAT LEON range etc......Easy targets or what!!!

Me finks the days of the new RS Cosworths ruling the road are over!

They never did rule the road, but as long as the hype is alive and kicking within the Essex massive, they should sell, and re-sell at Ferrari prices.

LOL

It would be better if they put it on a 4X4 chassis and tweaked to maybe 300brake, then it would possibly match its looks?

300 HP isn't a problem, the problem it has only 2 litres and needs to be drivable at mild boost. Changing to a larger turbo will lose torque at low RPM's and suffer from longer spool. Use a smaller responsive turbo and you will strain it at high boost thus shortening the life span, thus making the warrantee for Ford more costly.

Thats why Subaru must have this 3 litre on test......the 2 litre is to small.....all I am saying is ford should release say a 2.5l with 350bhp and 4X4 so it will keep up with future contenders.

Autoexpress is good to wrap your chips in. And absolutely nothing else. Except perhaps to see which bored journo can make up the most fanciful photoshop rubbish. I assume that there was a BMW M7 Estate, Lupo with a W12 from the Phaeton and a Honda Mounty Lawnmower with a Rolls Royce Merlin Aero engine strapped to it also shown "undisguised" in the same issue?

Thats a load of rubbish, be fair the RS is already at 220bhp (or is it 210) why would they even waste their time brining out a cosworth with only an extra 20bhp

And they are brining a new focus out so they are able to use 4 wheel drive. The cosworth might not even come out anyway

The Ford designer was ex-VW so no wonder it's a mix between the MkIV Golf, Passatt and Leon.. Look at the Mondeo for the ultimate Passatt/Audi clone.

That said, I think the pictures the mags have had so far aren't 100% accurate and in May (or slightly before) we should see the final images - inside and out. At least then AutoExpress might be able to PhotoShop up a decent impression of what a Cosworth MIGHT look like.

I didn't know Hilton Holloway had move form Car to Auto Express. nearly bought a Legacy off him.

Sorry I found that more interesting than the Focus itself.
