Hello all!
A new Fabia VRS arrives Saturday for the Mrs and I have never received a new car before from a transporter. Please can people give me some pointers as to what I should be checking when it arrives - i.e. body panel fit, wheels etc etc.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks again,
Mossman

Here goes
Before it comes off the transporter, check wheels and tyres for damage, and have a good look underneath for any damage to jacking points, floorpan, exhaust etc from transport.
Then starting at the roof check every panel carefully and one at a time for damage/light scratches, etc. as well as general colour match and fit/finish.
No matter how small they may appear, the first time you wash the wax off those little marks/scratches will look worse.
If its wet, refuse to sign off on the bodywork being acceptable, until you've seen it clean and dry.
Check inside as you would any new car for damage/marks, etc, Anything not working will be a warranty claim so not so important.
Check oil/water/fluids generally.
Basically you are checking for any damage, etc that it could be argued you could have caused after delivery.
If in doubt, don't accept it.
Make sure spec is correct as well
One of my old neighbours had a BMW delivered with wood inlays on the dash when he had ordered and paid for metal.
He sent it straight back to BMW.
Hope this helps

Good example of not checking....
Company A buys 40 Ford Focus Estates with Self levelling suspension (SLS), not checked when delivered, excessive tyre wear leads to investigation by company A, 37/40 do not have SLS. 18 months later still not resolved, lease company and Ford still arguing about responsibility. Legal group now involved!!
Check carefully out there
