im locked in a argument regarding the nissans engine, IIRC is actually a renault engine fitted from the Velastis or spelt something like that, anyone got any links to a site to confirm this

there was that rumor..
But I think you'll find the renault has a nissan engine in it.

The Nissan VQ engine, derivatives of which are in the 350Z, Latest Skyline saloon and coupe, US Altima, Maxima, Infiniti G35 (=Skyline), FX35, etc.etc. etc. has won some American award for being one of the World's great engines for at least 8 years in a row.

It is, was and always will be a Nissan Engine. Renault borrowed it for the Vel Satis.

Jeremy Clarkson said that the 350Z engine was from Renault when he first drove one, but that's because he's a narrow-minded prejudiced idiot who can't drive or present an intelligent even slightly researched car article on TV if he lip-synched for someone else. Bring back William Woollard, that's what I say...

oh ****!! so ive lost my argument, so its actually the other way round, renault used there engine!!, i find it hard to believe that one of the best F1 engine manufacturers borrowed a nissan engine for one of there road cars, or are we saying its an imitation??

Yeah, you're right....why would Renault, with all their Formula 1 experience, use a Nissan road car engine in a road car. Afterall, what decent road car engines have Nissan ever built...

RB25, RB26, VG30, SR20, CA18, GA16, ......

*** me, cant remember a decent renault performance car, apart from that gtv thing whatever it was when i was about 18, had like a large glass area on teh back, what was that car? v6 or something??

as for nissan, you got to give it to them the list is long for performance cars

f1 totally different story but you can hardly compare can you?
