Exclamation

I was having a wonder about town today in my lunch break. I come across a CL55 AMG parked. Was silver over black; I never usually like Mercedes and especially not this model!
But I just thought it looked unbeliveable appealing something I thought that may be nice. I then saw the man inside 65 plus in a old man type of suite lol, and I got scared. I'm not sure I would ever trade it for my car but it looked really nice.
Whats the specs on these things, looked impressive with the quad exhausts! :O

5.5 V8. Just shy of 500bhp IIRC, 0-60 about 4.7 and limited to 155MPH. Not bad for a car weighing nearly 2tonnes!

Found this on the Mercedes Benz website:

Number of Cylinders 8
Number of Valves 24
Displacement [cc] 5439
HP 500
Maximum Torque [nm/rpm] 700/2750-4000
Maximum speed [mph] 155
Acceleration 0 - 62.5 mph [secs] 4.8
Fuel consumption [mpg]
City 14.3
Extra urban 29.7
Combined 21.4
From: £93,560

There is off course a CL65 AMG available to special order, reviewed here in the Times:

"The Mercedes CL65 AMG not only has 612bhp — just 15 short of the McLaren F1, still the world’s fastest car — it has 738 lb ft of torque, a figure no production car in history has ever approached.

But this is only the start of the silliness. Would you believe that these figures are actually artificially restricted and that were this 6 litre twin-turbo V12 engine really let off the leash it would generate more than 880 lb ft of torque and 700bhp? You’d better because the sole reason for the restriction is that if it were left to its own devices it would melt its gearbox.

The price paid for such insanity by the 20 or so British buyers who will find themselves behind the wheel of a CL65 next year will be between £120,000 and £130,000, and if that doesn’t get your heart bleeding for them, perhaps it should."

Fantastic cars bu if it was my £130k, I'd get a 911 C4 and a Caterham R300 but it's nice to dream.
