Question

Hi all,

My Mrs has just got a new job and she needs to commute. Hence a new motor and I think a Fabia Rs. Have read a few reviews on here from Andy and Jonathan, but am a little unsure to which remappers it should be taken.

a) Jabbasport
b) AMD
c) Revo

??????????????

Any advice and especially experiences would be most welcome. Thanks!

Jabba seem to be the preffered option with the guys over on the briskoda bbs.

I still have an open mind, now driving a Nissan !. The Skoda boys all tend to go for Jabba due to experience of them, not knowledge of the best conversion. Amd and Jabba both have a great relationship, so you will find no harsh words. If I was doing it again, I would book with either AMD or Jabba depending on geography. In the end, you will argue over 1-5 bhp either way.

AmD have a new product for the fabia and others called one-click. You basically plug the thing into the diag port and it takes a copy of the map already there into its memory, then programs an alternative map into the ecu. If you do it again, the original map is sent back to the ecu and your performance map is stored into the one-click. For more info visit the briskoda forum and lookup the amd forum.

AmD "One Click" sounds like the Ford Blue-fin, and seems to be a very reliable and VERY easy to do...

The Jabba re-map seems to be most favourable, but due to the ease of the "One Click" IMO most people will accept the 1-5bhp loss over Jabba and go for this.

Cheers,
Grant

Upsolute & Revo both have good rep for the VAG TDI lump too.

Upsolute rep will come to you - under £300 for more traditional "board out & solder" remap - add extra £80-ish for same map flashed via the diagnostic port.

Revo (also diag port re-flash) much more costly, but you can use the SPS device to switch to & from stock mode very easily.

As far as I know, Jabba are the only ones that do remaps specific to your car on a rolling road. The others program off-the-shelf maps.

AMD mapped mine on the Rolling Road. Not sure Jabba have matched the levels of torque that AMD got out of mine. Problem is consistency between RR. My guess is they are almost identical.
