EVO VI or VX220

Bored so thought I'd ask, same track, same driver which one d'ya think should post the fastest time. Stumbled across a Vauxhall site (I know!!) and read a post that advises all would be Scoob and EVO drivers that there cars are only good for straight line speed, cause they don't handle, as well as showing off to 'Rude Boys' and stuff.

Its either go for the hairdressers car (VX220) or go for the mans car (EVO6). but i would so them all and get a porsche 944 turbo, as fast as an evo and can out handle a vx220 any day. Doughnutman

hairdressers car?? Well i've never heard it called that! Perhaps you should try the latest modified VXT's - 250bhp and 250lb/ft They definitely require some handling and are hitting 100 in 11 secs!
And an old 944 cant compete with either a new Evo, scooby or a VX - weight, chassis, suspension, brakes have all moved along in the last 10/5 years. I had a stripped out 944 (turbo?) follow me around Bedford in my standard(ish) 2.2 VX and he didnt make any ground. All IMO naturally

Weight - Yep it weighs about the same as an Evo and a WRX
Suspension - Adjustable Koni's are not that bad
Brakes - lol, better than any of the cars you have mentioned!

Dave - It was an orange 944 at the Redline bedford day - lots of tasty kit inc. P1, Gt3, radical sr3, TVR's and te Palmer Jag
Have you modifying the brakes and suspension then since standard? Now thats different IMO a stock 944 turbo could not compete against a stock evo/vxt. Performance/brakes/suspension have all change for the better.

A 944 is a very good car, but I agree things have moved on somewhat. I've raced 944 turbo, 968 and 'normal' 944's on trackdays, I'm no great driver, but posted faster laptimes than these in my Fiat Coupe.
I was lapping in about the same time as an RB5 on the day, so I would expect against an EVO or vx220t to be a little bit quicker than a 944 turbo.

ps My Coupe has a lot of suspension/engine mods btw.
