My friend bought a 95 Clio 1.4Auto from a garage about 4 weeks ago - was driving to a party & a week later & the head gasket went.
Got the car back to them but the garage are refusing to give a refund sayin that it's not policy to do so. The cars headlights are also pointing all over the place which they can't seem to sort out even though the MOT was only done about 2 days before she bought it.
She has a solicitors letter going out to them but in the meantime she's had to buy another car.
Any idea if she can get anything sorted out without it dragging out for 6months in the courts etc?
Thanks
Jay

Serious question, not a pisstake.
Why do you think your case warrants any contribution from the seller ?
As you describe it, it is an 8 year old car which ran OK when you bought it.
Did you get a warranty with the car ?
