Thumbs down

Mate of mine has a '98 S 106 GTi with 60k on the clock and his geabox has gone

Anyone got any recommendations for someone to re-build it or scrap dealers who specialise in Pugs?

Are they prone to going? A chunk of bearing came out when he drained the oil so it's probably a bearing rather than the cogs being stripped.

The gearbox is not a common failure on the 106 actually...

Be quicker, easier & probably cheaper to get one from a breakers rather than getting a re-build.

Try the Pug forums too >>>

Make sure you get a GTi box though as others are different ratio's, even on the Saxo VTS, although they (VTS's) aint massively different.

Many thanks Rich D

Anyone aware of any Pug specific breakers, like Grade A are for Subaru's?

Dales's 106 GTi box went when he had it. Hadn't had it long either.
