I had an L reg 1.4 XSi a few years back. Quite nippy 9ish secs to 60, 100bhp and the handling was superb with lots of grip, watching out for the typical French custom of lift-off oversteer!! Rather boomy on the motorway which can get a little tiring. Decent spec but tinny build quality and fragile elctrics and trim.

I would think they have no where near as much body roll as lesser 106's but it will have some, all part of the handling/suspension setup I guess. No worse than a 306 GTi-6. As a cheap fun runabout, I think you'd enjoy it.

106 xsi... early ones available in 1.4 and 1.6

1.4 is what I had.. 1.4 Multi point injection..

No body roll..

I had 195x45x15's on mine (405 MI 16 wheels) - needed a spacer on the rear... and Spax PSX suspension and strutbraces Corner'd very well..

Brakes were good too.. (for the power) I also had braided brake lines which were the best thing I did to it..

Also Janspeed exhaust and Pipercross airfilter.. (brings back memorys)
