Long shot -

Was trying to remove the coolant drain plug on the engine block today as part of its 72000 service - could barely get to it -let alone budge it!

Anyone any tips? Can hardly give the spanner a smack as there is just no room. Also it seems to be a square key, so my bloody sockets dont fit!

Frustrating!

Thumbs up

Hmm, sounds like you're gonna need an open ended spanner - elastoplast - mole grips

I should imagine it'll have loctite on it...try bashing the plug with a hammer first, don't go too mad though Is there room to hook another spanner / tube over the original spanner, ie making a longer lever? I bet once you've cracked it, it'll come out really easily!

Good luck!

Good tip Bob! The LR Worshop manual actually says to put Loctite on it before replacing...so I even went out to get some in an-ti-ci-pa-ti-on I'll give it a whack - think I can manage that... Cheers
