Interested in finding out more about these...
Is there a UK website for these, I registered on www.mr2oc.com and found out it was all americans. I would be interested in talking to people from the Uk with these cars.
What are the stock performance figures on these?
Modifying potential and relative cost (bhp per £)?
Cheers,
Grant

MR2dc.com is an excellent source of info.
All (virtually) members are uk based and have the jap version and not the lowered power US version.

i currently own a mr2 turbo. Its a 1993 rev 2 turbo.
Standard the car will do 0-60 in around 5.5 secs. Arev 3 however wich has a different turbo amongst other things will run it in 5.2 standard. Tuning them is the same as other turbo cars. boost upgraade etc.
The rev 1 and 2 mr2's can easily be tuned to around 270-280hp with simple mods. Due to the rev 3 havin the bigger turbo it can easily produce 300hp+.
Mine is currently areound 300hp. I have swapped the old ct26 turbo for the newer ct20b turbo. Over all i have spent around £1k on mods and i ran a 13.3 quatermile time. I honestly belive there was a 12.89-12.9 in the car but it was too hot on the day i ran it at the track.
Im currntly trying to sell mine to fund my next car a sti 4 type r.
hope this helps.

look i dont know where people get this that the ct20 is smaller.
the ct26 has a 38mm compressor wheel. the ct20b has a 48mm. Hence it is bigger. The waste gate ports are also bigger on the ct20b.
The housing is the same size.
also there is less lag on the ct26 than the ct20b.
trust me.

have a look on there. There is pics of both i took during my rebuild.

Having owned a rev2 and 3 I'd say there was lag on the 2 and barely any on the 3.
Performance wise (no mods) they were virtually identical.
As for the size of the turbo, I'll take your word for it. I always thought the 20 was smaller but more efficient.

i havent driven a rev3 but i noticed that when i fitted the ct20b there was more lag than when i had my ct26. Anyway they are a good, fast and cheap car.
What impreza do you own? And is it an improvement over your mr2? how does it compare speed wise?

Imprezza? Urgh no!
Not my cup of tea, mate!
I'll be looking out for a rev5 once my financial situation is settled, so should be early next year.
Speed-wise I can only go on the usual on-the-road things.
Fast! For the cash they're a snip these days. Just a shame that insurance and Toyota aren't so forgiving.
