just switched from scooby to pug 1.6 gti (see previous thread)

spent the afternoon fitting replacement speakers and a new head unit, after a few minor problems everything works great. thought i'd go out for a quick spin so got in the car pushed the clutch in (been stiff since i got it) and got a quiet thud and the clutch is in the depressed position. i can pull the clutch pedal out but it just goes back down. checked the cable at the other end but it seems okay:-

have i broke the clutch cable or (how do you check/change)
the clutch finally gone?

help.... what should i do?

Probably broke the small plastic cable carrier on the end of the clutch pedal inside the car.

This happened to me on my 205 gti.

Have a look at the pedal under the dash and you should see the blighter

"Clunks from the steering when in reverse" - my memory is poor in this area but I do remember it was a common problem. It was either something to do with the brake calipers or anti roll bar links.
