Corsasport(impreza beaters)

just been looking about on a few sites and come across this. Fair enough some of the corsa's are quite fast i.e. 2.0 turbo conversions and the like but...any way have a look and see.

Idiot, why do people insist on racing every car off the lights and then boasting about it! who gives a ****!!! not every car wants to race a corsa of the line so does that mean he has had his **** kicked?????????????

You have to laugh that he's boasting about beating a Mazda MX-3 (0-60 in 8.5), "beating" an M3 because he got through traffic quicker and then someone else has a go because they beat a diesel Mondeo.
I'm not against modified Corsa's exactly, in fact I reckon a 200bhp Corsa 1.2L with no external mods would be a right laugh, but come on, beating a Mondeo Diesel is nothing to be proud of.

I couldn't believe some of the bull that comes from that site. I used to own a very nice corsa gsi in carabic blue very nice standard car but performance wise it wasn't upto much! but when i got my scoob i was like a kid with a new toy I couldn't believe the performance of it.
I do believe there is some fast corsa's out there but with the big heavy 2.0 engines they are knackered when it comes to corners with all the weight and being front wheel drive it doesn't help...especially in the wet.
In fact id like to see a race in the wet again the best of the corsa's and a std uk scooby how I laugh when the corsa cannot get the grip it needs to put all the power down.

I thought corsas were slow. had a race with a 1.4 corsa in my 30 yr old GT6. got to 40 in 3rd, nailed it through to 75 @ 4.9krpm.
he was non to pleased because i let him think he was winning for 1/4 of a mile.

Was watching the IOM trophy rally today on M+M. A guy called Fox won in a Corsa and saw him overtaking a Scoob. A well prepared 2l Corsa is a very effective rally car and they turn, brake and drive very well.

Did you see the Top Gear when they got £100K worth of Lotus engineering and expertise to transform a old Skoda into a seriously good track car. Yes with a big enough budget you can do anything, almost .
It depends what you want :
a 20K with 2K worth of mods OR
a 8K car with 14K worth of mods
both cost you the same at the end of the day but which is worth more ?.
I know which I would pick but it doesnt mean I am right.

Some questions -
I couldn't see any facts in that thread, what 1/4 mile time does a modded Corsa do ? How much does a highly modded Corsa cost ? Why do drivers of small fwd cars boast about how cool it is to have a 1.4l engine that is tuned to breaking point ?
I had a UK MY98 Scooby Turbo with a Ramair panel filter and Scoobysport Back Box that did a 1/4 mile in 13.797sec ET @ 98.25mph with a 1.855sec 60ft time. I sold that car in April 2003 for 8250 including P1 brakes, Prodrive discs, Kenwood CD, front and rear spoilers and CAT1 alarm. Surely it would be worth saving up for that car instead of it on modding a Corsa/VTR/etc ?

I feel yo uhave to understand that you post about what you race. other people post about what they beat. A punto GT will not beat a scoob if driven propely in a straight line without serious mods. like wise a corsa won't. however if you pump a few £ into these cars then you can make them fast. if you can;t get to grips with that then please

Hello, webmaster of Corsa Sport here, please take the ramblings of my members with a pinch of salt where unsubstantiated
The sub 5 0-60 and the video of the Corsa beating a Scooby quarter mile are real though
