O'h dear how sad. Their only ambition is to buy a German Taxi and try to beat Scoobies.

T*ssers utter t*ssers. Some people prefer the corporate Bavarian armchair, most are company car’s, and the majority have about as much idea of a quality car as stevie wonder (sorry!) has, if it fit’s in to the corporate middle management image they will buy one (sorry lease) and anyway they look like a pikeys car after 18 month’s.
Yes I could have had one but opted out of the car scheme and bought my own …. Yes I do approx 30k miles a year…… yes I do more motorway miles than you can shake a stick at…. Why did I buy the Scooby?, because I wanted to, because I wanted one, the handling, the speed and yes it is different and occasionally attracts the wrong sort of attention (what ever that is !!) who care’s not I, its more than owning “just a car”.

a list of one of the fellas mods is even funnier than the 'TT chrome cup holder'
Belgian style number plates? Dark tints. Chrome heater vents and gear surround.

Hmmmm, now this is a funny lot. The mentality of an XR3i driver in the car of a doctor (no offence John!) or bank manager?

What's with the aftermarket rear lights and tints, BTW? I is wondering if they is black...

One thing I have noticed is that on almost all other forums they always seem to use the Scoob as a benchmark of performance to try and beat and indeed boast about if they do seem to beat......What does that tell you?

that tells us, scoob rules!

sold scoob and got a clk230 Komp, first day and my brains were telling me "get another scoob". compared to my old typeR, the merc was moving at snail pace but very good for daily M way cruising.

any merc with 500 or above would be quicker for top end but hey, scoobs are not for top end anyway. got absolutely crushed by a new e55 amg before i sold the scoob, all i saw was the quad exhaust getting smaller and smaller after 100mph which i duly slowed down.

with cars within the same price range, dont think scoobs will be last.....

Priceless!

If you look on any car specific forum you'll find posts about how they murdered this-that-and-the-other in their thingy-ma-jig, its quite funny really.

Somebody somewhere must be telling porkies

In my experience most things of any note are quite well put together these days, and can shufty along at a fair rate of knots regardless! Get caught in the wrong gear or miss a change and you can be on the wrong end of a big "can of whoop ***"

I lost out to a mini-mayfair in my Escort Cossie when I first bought it after badly bogging down at some lights, and the woman driving that had a blue rinse

I wonder if she told everyone at the W.I. about that

Hi Guys,

I also browse this forum as well as MBCLUB and that was me that killed the Scooby in Windsor.

Yes I drive daily a CL500 (5.0 litre V8) even so it wasn't a easy kill, I overtook, but not quickly. The only reason for doing this is because of the youngsters in the back laughing and holding up the outside lane when it was empty, basically asking for it. Unfortunately for them it was a dual carriageway and empty.

Straight lines are fine for a Merc, but if this event involved any corners then you know the outcome as much as I do! (That’s what I got a 300ZX for!)

PS. I'm 23 not 60!

Cheers,

Matt.

Hello,

I am from the www.mbclub.co.uk forum that Maff belongs to.

I have been to Germany with him and he and that CL500 know how to motor!

I see you got all defensive early in this thread (arn't forums great?) but you seem like good guys.

I have a manual C230 Kompressor, only 203BHP, 207ft/lb torque from 2500rpm up (numbers from a real life dyno) so less than all you guys, but again in a straight line whilst moving it has pretty good acceleration.

Yeah, take it as a compliment people benchmark by scoobies. They are drivers cars, so 1. the driver is often up for a little bit of full throttle action and 2. you know it's a challenge.

Plus I find personally, I enjoy nothing better than winning a race than getting destroyed by a awesomely fast vehicle showing what it can do.

The car is just a preferance at the moment, something different for my sterotype (24 years old).

Take a beeter look at out forum those of you that have registered - we have some nice cars and our recent meet up (Events section) was pretty impressive.

Ride in a 520BHP Brabus still has smile implanted on my face.

Cheers

Graham

PS. Still in Mr. Nice guy mode ..........

It was at G-Force in Aylesbury, Bucks I had my car rolling roaded.

http://www.g-force-motorsport.co.uk/menu/menu.htm

They are really proffessional and I totally recommend them. They have a way funky rolling road "cell" and the specialise in Porsche and Subaru, check them out.

I had 166.8BHP at my rear wheels (don't think I'm gonna impress anyone here!!).

What am I doing wrong? All these 20 somethings driving round in 70k cars

I'd be happy with an Impreza WRX or a 500SL

Nice to see some friendly chaps from another forum. Most of the people on here are friendly too. Some just get a bit uptight when someone driving another brand car manages to beat them.

LOL - I sold my CLK430 and got a scoob 'cos I was bored with its "armchair slush" performance. I love these mine v yours threads.. when will people learn not to be so defensive about a lump of metal they own...

You have what you have - just enjoy the *******.. you'll always get wind-up merchants bragging about their "victories" - live with it

Still, it's better at going round them than the Merc!!
