Bull%&it or what?

I have been doing quite a bit of watching to get a feel for this forum. I am a member of the SIDC and use that forum quite a bit, and too be perfectly honest my feeling is that there is so much bull**** talked about on this site I'm blown away....everyone has got a 911 turbo, or has a friend with one!!! or it seems every 17 year old talks about how his AMG55 blew away this or that, (the fact that it would cost 20-40 grand to insure!!! if true what the hell do you do to be able to afford it???)
Is it just me are are there a lot of bull.... artist around.
Mark
PS I apoligise to all the genuine people, oh i'm 36 and drive an 03 WRX with PPP....no its actually a ferrari F50, and my brothers got the new Lambo quad turbo 300 valver!!!!

But I would add that I, amongst most people, do know a lot of people with some tasty machinery. Most people on here work in IT which means there's a fair bit of wedge flying around and thus some tasty motors.

Hi Dark Blue Mark, I hear what your saying, I know quite a few people with expensive machinery, it does not say that i have driven them, and when I ask them how does their BMW 330D go, the response is always, "it will blow any car off the road", or the like, wit that I would not pretend to be an expert on the 330D!!
Maybee its me being a bit cynical in my old age.
Cheers
Mark
PS The 330D is quick, not fast, i've not driven it, just seen it out of my rear view mirror.

This is true Mark, but don't tar us all with the same brush (that is if you are referring to my post (brother called me thread - re SL55 & 911T)), there are some genuine ones out there believe you me.
Cheers

I used to have mates that had flash cars a couple of years ago... again all who worked in IT. Now the flash cars have gone, and so have the jobs

I'm not letting a plumber near my PC thanks very much, it's difficult enough to get the ******* to do any plumbing, they shouldn't be moonlighting in IT

Hi Kelvin,

I stand to be corrcted but that sounds a low, I have a friend, no really who bought hi 18 year old son an MG ZS, without checking insurance, the best her got was £6k fully comp!

I have this "friend" who's about **ahem** 30.... and still actually works in the ill-fated IT / Telecomms industry. Had to sell his Blackscooby due to crap prospects at work and now runs around in this sheddy 3 series.
Allededly its cheaper to run so bought a motorbike and competes in a Pug 205 now instead of "his" Impreza
Next he'll be wearing carpet slippers !

RichWalk - yeah? Well I overtook your Allegro in my diarrhoea-orange coloured one, going backwards, as we all know that the Allegro is more aerodynamic in reverse! I reckon you'd 'ave me in the twisties though, not too good at reversing round corners!

my local plummer driver a red Bentley!!
Anyway, to the point. I'm afraid its not bullsh1t - the fact is out that the Impreza is untouchable in the wet twisties...
PS - I'm so glad that the rain is back! I'll get me coat!

Another point is that many more "expensive cars" the actual running costs and more importantly depreciation costs are actually less than a wrx.

There are an awful lot of big, fast, expensive cars being made and sold and someone has to drive them too. Most owners will be two or three times seventeen years old though
BTW my Porker beats even the newer turbodiesels

Well a shed like an AMG55 you are only going to insure it third party anyway. Actually I would have though 17 year olds with their own AMG would probably work in pharmaceuticals  so probably wouldn't worry about insurance.
I nearly did drive an Orange Muirycello (or whatever they are called), I was washing the Missues's car when a youngish chap drove in filled up then went to pay leaving the stereo on (so we could enjoy his "banging tunes"0 and left that funny door stuck up in the air wide open! Keys must have been in to have the stereo going, although I wouldn't have driven it away I seriously debated changing his CD for him to something more tasteful "Mud¡¯s Greatest hits" or something "Tiger feet" would have suited the cars colouring
