Lotus Exige

Have driven one in anger on a track...
I personally could not live with one as an every day car.
Drive wise they are ok... and IMO handling is twitchy whilst in ANGER mode!
I prefer the VX220 - Which before driving both cars, would have been a statement I would have never thought I would say! The handling is simply awesome the power is pretty good for what it is and they now do a turbo version!
You can also use it it on a day to day basis.
But the looks of the Exige are mega!
but VX every time for me.

Exige can get very hot, that is why they added A/C (think of the weight, CC is turning in his grave)
Try a test drive in an Elise as an Exige is just a hyper Elise.

I have an Exige, and as an only car might not be perfect, like when it snows, or if you have to make a family trip, or carry lots of baggage.
Otherwise I have driven it to Italy and back and no problem.
Now, I find it odd that plantie felt a VX was better a the track, as there is no comparison at all. The Exige (or any sport 190) will beat any VX200 (T) at tye track.
On the road, the VX is going to be comfier.
Maybe that Exige you drove was not well sorted? (there are some around)
And to Rumpler, they added an AC, right, but it doesn't really work. It's about 11 kg extra and the vibrations brake the coolant pipes often. Besides, the cabin inside is not well isolated so the heat comes in from the oil cooler pipes and engine compartment.
Better to do as I'm doing, sealing these couple of heat entries (expanding foam will do) and open the window if it's really hot.
Otherwise it's a great car, so good that I'm hoping on keeping it forever.
On the track, very little can beter it: Radical, some Caterhams and the odd super-modified car.
If I had invented a car, it would be like the Exige
