Hiya,
Can someone tell me how they got that noise out of the supra in the 1st film...e.g. at the end of the film he lines up with the black dodge charger and its obviously a dump valve, but it makes a kind of shivery (dont knw how else to explain it!) noise. Is this a special valve or turbo even....anyone got any ideas or where to buy?
Also where are the scoobies in those films aye!!
Cheers - Dan.

Induction kit with FMIC coupled with Re-Circ D/V gives exactly the same noise - well it does on mine anyway

My guess at tghe noise in F&F would be the induction kit. You can get the same noise with a induction kit or air filter. A de-catted downpipe will make it even louder. Used to get it all the time in my Scoob when I had the K&N induction filter and de-cat on it.
You need to retain the standard re-circulating dump valve as the sound of a venting DV will usually drown out the noise of the indcution kit. Press the gas then lift off and you'll get a quite loud fluttering noise from the induction kit as it sucks in then releases the air I guess.
Could have been an external waste gate noise but they usually tend to sound a bit higher, more chirpy so my bet would be on induction kit as it sounds almost exactly like the sound I used to get on my Scoob

The noise is wastegate chatter, sound of air coming back through the induction pipes & hitting the impellor blades.
If you have an external wastegate, your normally running a big turbo, and especially if the ext. wastegate vents to atmosphere your gonna get A LOT of that noise.
How much are they someone asked?? spend about 9k on your engine, 2k on a turbo and youll probably have one then!
If anyoen says theyve got an external wastegate on their car, their either lying, or if their not lying, be afraid!!
