more speed?

the v8 GT is 0-60 in 4.8, 0-100 in 10.3 and has a top end of 170mph.

The V8 Esprit is an absolute dream. Possibly my very favourite road car - if not, it's damn close.

Incredible performance and incredible handling.

I used to own an S4S, which was very special, but the V8's are even quicker. The only thing that let my particular car down was the reliability and I had to reluctantly give it back in the end. Damn shame, and I toy with the idea of getting another one monthly

All the best

Simon

There is a yahoo list for Esprits, IIRC LotusEspritUK where just about every aspect of Esprit ownership is covered

Upping power on the V8 to about 450bhp is not difficult, however, the gearbox is a problem. It isn't really strong enough for stock power, so if you try to put another 100bhp through it in enthusiastic fashion it is only a matter of time before it goes bye bye Currently there is no cheap replacement box, unless you happen to regard 10k as pocket change, but hopefully someone will come up with something sooner rather than later.

do the V8 GT's still have the 25 gear box because there has got to be a more modern race one that will fit because at the moment the gear box runes the car completely

Talking

I had a V8SE for just over a year. One very fast and pretty car indeed - but it's legs were a bit long for most of the driving I did as it loves the big wide sweeping roads (favorite places for cameras these days ). Engine note was always dissappointing, even with sports exhausts but they seem to be quite a bargain these days - I'd have one again given the right environment (ie not in central London!)

Cool

Lovely car indeed. But I'm intrigued as to how you hit the clutch and throttle at the same time - you must have truly huge feet.

Can't say from driving experience but most mag reviews like EVO said it was better than the standard V8 GT - especially handling.

Thumbs up

Obviously need to drive a 350 (driven several GTs).

Trouble is, i've got a CSL coming so i'd have to pick between the two, which is a decision i dont want to make.

I'm going to get the CSL first and see what thats like then maybe go look at a 350 if it doesnt live up to what i want!
