AA/RAC Inspections
#1
Just Sold my Alfa 156
Bloke buying it wanted an RAC vehicle Inspection
No Problem I said, He was paying £225 + and I knew the car was faultless.
Mechanic arrived checked electrics, air con etc
Dipped Oil,checked brake fluid
Jacked up rear to check wheel bearings
tried to jack up front, jack wouldn't fit under side skirts
so didn't bother.
1/2 mile test drive up Private road
He left 55 minutes later!!!
Good value for money or what!!!

mmm... i sold an integra type r a couple of years back and the buyer asked for an AA inspection.
The AA bloke didnt strip the engine down to its componant parts, but that was all he had left to do... I was stunned at the level of detail he went into, and he new his stuff.
Probably just depends on the guy & the day...

Scooby Regular
RAC Inspections are total bull****...
I got one on my current car cause it was in England and I was in Scotland so it made sense.
Got a clean bill of health, report came back and everything was meant to be fine. Took it to the local specialist, got told that the engine had cooked itself, and it was beyond economical repair... Absolute waste of money IMO and I would DEFINATELY stay away from the RAC if you are thinking of getting it done.
Cheers,
Grant
