Had 6 of these over a few years ago, Club - TSSC is as passionate about their cars as we are. You can do a lot to improve them
Brakes off a 2.8 capri, tr6 lump on webbers, sort the suspension out (your sitting in an earlier rotaflex model) overdrive is a worth while option. People will take the p1ss but so what they are all about cheap fun motoring on about a tenth of the running costs of a scooby!
Errr! seriously why is this in the Muppets? Hope this isn't a wind up because if it is someones really missed the plot, and it is not me!

aye, its also a lot cheaper than a saxo etc and is 2 times the fun. Cheaper parts too, retains or increases in value. Im gunna take pass plus and my mum ( works for 5-0) knows of this speed training course run by road traffic, so ill get some training done before going nuts. No good going fast if you dont know how to stop effectively!!!!
someone i know goes banging on that his mummys MG ZR, the 1.4, will beat anything. hehe, with this running a 120bhp+ straight six he wont know whats hit him, especially after 60mph, pure British muscle under the hood, grumbling away. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
can you tell im excited, can yer? can yer?!?!?

Nice, much more original than buying a Saxo at 17 !
Be carefull with it as then can have interesting handling, speaking from experience of being in a mates 1500, take it easy with it, it may have modern performance but the chassis is a bit strange, takes a bit more effort to keep on the road at speed than a Saxo on big wheels
I had a Mark 1 Capri at 17 followed by a Mark 1 Golf GTI, its nice to have something different and you will have lots to do at weekends.....

its sounds as a pound, started with out choke or thottle and ran SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO smooth.
got a spitfire so know about the suspension, same chassis as GT6 and leaf spring.
me + saxo = me in a car I dont want. i love these, so what there are larger panel gaps than todays cars, and when you go towards a hill it disappears infront of you due to a low roof. Its great, love the body style, 6 cyl rumble, windowframeless doors.
ki always wanted a 1967 Fastback Mustang but couldnt find insurance. This has similar characteristics with the fastback roof, and backend.
Ill be coming to some scooby meets in otc dec now! I think you'll be able to tell which ones me!

I wouldnt bank on that !
My brother in law has an E type (similar age) and he thrases it, it cost mega money, I thrash my old Golf GTI every day withoutmercy and it keeps coming back for more !
Got to give you credit for being an individual at 17 instead of running with the pack, bloody hell I am getting old (32), I probably have shirts older than you (they wont fit though)
Hope it gets you lots of ladies, A Saxo will only get you Laydees, usually called Kelly Marie with many spots, much make up but no class, no big lasses mind a spit fire isnt big enough, get a mate along and have a spit-fire roast.

Enjoy! I very nearly bought one when I was 17, but ended up getting a beetle instead (not sure why ). As J4cko said, it's good to be different and not follow the Saxo pack.
Happy motoring
