Hi All

I have just been to look at a 87/88 BMW 520i with a colleague and it makes the most awful tappet noise Are the tappets on these cars hydraulic or adjustable or anything or is it fooked?

Also he already has a 78ish 528i will the engine swap into the 520i? They look similar but I haven't seen the cars side by side yet because he is only considering it until I can find out about the horrible noise.

And another question the doors on the drivers side don't shut flush with the bodywork Are the strikers adjustable?
