Wink

Surely the 'ultimnate driving machine' was not humbled by a mere Audi - must be some mistake.

Nice txs, My RS4 had a kerb weight of 1680kgs according to the copy of the log book i have

996 turbo stats- hehe beat me 2 it, EVO VII?

so a P1 is close enough then, 20bhp difference is hardly god like, but the 562kgs lighter it is will make a big difference on cornering

anyway as i was saying i would expect the RS's to be fast in a straight line but you would make it up on the corners

i got a great vid of me in the RS4 playing with a yellow exige at coombe, he was killing me on the tight twisty stuff but i passed him back on the long straight and fast corner every time as i was doing over 160, great fun.

and yeah it did kill it

it had 550 bhp and 440 torque and it was sold at the end for more money to roy keane and was the only second rs6 with the audi chip for 2500 k after the audi boss in the uk

and forgot , his 996 turbo was modded too and it wasnt standard and the rs6 was alot faster in a straight line and only failed in the bends but his evo 7 was faster than his 996 turbo in all areas

rite now scoobs are v. nice but simple maths:

1 STI = 265 bhp
1 RS6 = 450 bhp

now I'm no good at maths but 450 - 265 = 185 bhp difference and thats a STI not a WRX so slightly faster there! lol
So basically ur little scoobie doo's will get left for dust!

Mr Maths Teacher lol

Some people really need to get over that fact! Sorry but its true!

Aren't they like a million bhp 4wd ?
The only thing that will touch them is a lightly modded soarer

Very fast in a straight line but theres only about 0.2sec difference between the RS4 and RS6 on the 0-125mph dash as the RS6 is so heavy. Just find some braking zones and corners and you will have no problems from them.

Power has nothing to do with cornering ability, weighing the best part of 2 tonnes as the RS6 fueled and 2 up does would have alot to do with it, also having a large heavy engine high up and infront of the driving axel and a 4wd system that uses the ABS system to simulate axel diffs all help the uber barge undesteer nicely.

I had a black S8 for a few days on one of my RS4s many trips to the repair man. Made me feal like a drug dealer, i got some very very funny looks from the locals as i drove around hackney in my Audi baseball hat and a black T shirt. i liked it alot as a fast comfy cruiser (especially the his and hers arm rests)

CC....4WD & 450BHP + loads of Torque.....you never stood a chance !

Impreza would 'ave an RS2/4/6 any day!
Image doctor....I think you've been dreaming again....all of these have significantly more power in standard form than an STi Impreza.....

Thumbs up

Jeff - I forget the winkie smiley!

Even though Impreza's often have more than 100 bhp less than some cars, they are still quicker?

I can't believe an educated guy like you did not know that.

RS4 is only about 225bhp tonne and the RS6 not alot more so its not hard for a scooby or evo to match them

However the Audis are also easy to chip and often are. RS6 can easily have 520bhp+

my M3 is 217/tonne not much difference on paper but on the road it was massive

those RS Audis are serious tools. I am sorry but a 22B was beaten on a Clarkson vid by a M Coupe. An RS6 would annihilate ANY scoob , it simple fact

the other thing to rememeber they have insane torque over a massive amount of the rev range so there alot more flexable to drive.

My RS4 was 420bhp and faster than a stock RS6, my none PPP STi7 would leave it for dead on a track.

i have some fantastic incar vids of my RS4 understeering like a pig on track as various EVOs and 911s wiz past it (and me ).

hmmm CC doesnt seam to good in the maths department

Audi RS6 450 (bhp) / 2 (tonnes) = 225 bhp per tonne

a 1.2 tonne scooby (older model) therefore only needs 270bhp to match the RS6's power to weight ratio.

Jesus what would you guys do if you came accross a car that was actually fast like my m8s (ex) Evo Extreme RS450 which was 450bhp and weighed way under 1400kgs?

Nick,
Check your numbers there is not a 0.8 tonne difference between a scoob and a RS6. Its only 455kg between WRX wagon and RS6 Avant. RS6 Saloon and Avant are 1860 and 1810 KG's respectively. Subaru says Sti WRX is 1470kg.

Regards
Camk

with a tank of fuel and and 2 ppl (or 1 me) an RS6 would weigh 2 tonne, yep modern Scoobys are very heavy but have better crash protection, older models are much much lighter so they would have no trouble getting 225bhp per tonne +

just for the record i dont consider my STi that great (it is pretty good), the EVO VII and VIII are much much faster cars but the scoobys far easier to live with on bumby roads.

Oh and over 120 in a straight line the Audi would vansih into the distance (they are after all made to storm autobahns not race tracks)
