Nissan 200SX's are QUICK!
#1
There's loads of the 1.8's in the 200SX club (www.sxoc.com) with 200+bhp, many with 250+, a fair few with 300+, some with 350+ and a few with over 400bhp! They're light, RWD, revvy, easily tunable, reliable if carefully looked after, and very fun. It's not a coincidence that so many are used in drifting in Japan.

The S13's came with 167bhp I think. They wouldn't go much faster than 140mph and it was unlikely to be modded if a French car as they aren't allowed to mess about with the engine, though I'm sure some owners flout the law.
S14 doesn't share the gtir gearbox but lots of the engine(different turbo, inj, manifolds etc though).

While away in France last week, I had a run in with a Nissan 200SX.
He pulled out of a service station in front of me, back onto the motorway.
Naturally I floored it to overtake him - he stuck to my bumper all the way to 140mph where he finally gave up....
I was shocked - I never thought they were that quick...!

yes they are quite quick 197 BHP in standard spec to rear wheel (less transmission losses) and lighter than a Scooby. But probably easier to tune than a Scooby and there are several highly modified ones kicking around. And yes I got a 200SX, bought to replace my destroyed Scooby !!

Yes the one pictured above is a 1.8 turbo (S13) model and the newer S14 and S14a models 2.0 litre turbos.
Standard intercooler and gearbox on the S14 can appaently take 300 BHP as standard as its the engine and gearbox out of the Sunny / Pulsar GTI's and they can throw out a tremendous amount of power.
Typical Nissan understressed / bomb proof engines - a la Skyline.

Talk about an oversteery fun car - makes four wheel drifting in the Scoob look tame!
Very underestimated car IMHO.

Yes they are rather good aint they?
Cant wait to tune mine, aiming at 15psi and 260-280bhp (if I can be arsed to change the fuel pump that is) and as for sideways, well I bought it back in april and I already need new rear tyres
astraboy.

should get that figure easy enough with the zorst, filter, dawes boost controller set to 15-16 psi
if you go above that power though a uprated pump would be needed (isn't too hard to change, did mine 3 times when the thing died and I couldnt find the cause)
oh and a front mount would be good, I've had a evo jobbie in the garage for 2 years now
never had time to fit it
