Just got a new job about a month ago but doing 160miles in the scoob a day not that I'm complaining but the bank manager might.
So, I've convinced the wife to sell her car or PX so that we can keep the scoob. Problem is I'm thinking of going for the Seat Leon TDI or Golf TDi.
Questions are - What do people think ? Any alternatives ? Any advice to get a good deal from a dealer.
Cheers folks for the help

Hi
I had a Seat Leon Cupra. It's 50/50 whether it or my Wife's old Focus Zetec was the most unreliable car we've ever owned (or seen...). Certainly, the 1968 Fiat 500 I had, was more reliable than both!
Still, if you buy a diesel, you'll be spared the failing coil problem that seems to afflict a huge number of the petrol Leons. Two went on mine, and I only kept it 9 months. Then there were the leaks - headlights, rear brake light and door seals:
"Mmmm, I just love the smell of rotting carpet in the morning..."
Paint chips, rattles, truculent trim, grabbing brakes, dodgy remote locking/alarm, engine flat spots, weak 1st gear synchro
and finally a new gearbox.
Many are pretty standard Leon faults. I understand cracking windscreens is a new one to add to the list too.
Funny bit is, I traded the Leon to the Scooby part of the same dealer group it came from. It was knocked back to the Seat garage, and they took 8 months to sell it, for £3500 less than I got for it! Not even a Seat dealer could sell the car easily!
Cue Seat owners...
