I was wondering if they had announced a new S3 now the new A3 has been launched? Any ideas?

Yep. Think they are planning a 250bhp V6 like in the TT aren't they?

Yeah. Badged RS3 it has a 3.2 litre V6 lump. Doubt it will be any where as economical as my current S3.

I think the RS3 is going to be a turbo'd engine... I think I read something about it in Autocar/Autoexpress a few weeks back.

They are planning a Performance Model of the range with the 3.2 V6 from the R32 Golf...

Yep, the 3.2 from the R32 Golf will be available later in the year, it isn`t an S3 though as it will be badged 3.2 quattro.

New S3/RS3 due 2004/2005 I think.

Yep will be badged as 3.2 quattro with about 250hp, S3 should have about 280hp by the sounds of it and be here for late 2004/early 2005. Within the last few years of production in usual RS manor a RS3 will be arriving with apparently 350bhp and a turbo.

Apparently the S3 will be an FSI version of the 3.2 engine already in the A3 and R32. Estimates are that it will put out about 275 or so.
