Well, no longer agonising over whether a Noble is worth £45k....er no thanks LOL See this weeks test to find Britains fastest point to pointer, and how the Noble did.
No suprises that the 911 Turbo won, and Autocar used an Evo instead of Scoob.
Sorry to say they couldn't get hold of a Soarer though
Chuck
PS If it's SIAL then apologies!

No, some road in Wales they said, what ever it is, the 911 pulled a huge lead over the 340bhp Evo Extreme so they must of been doing some speed along one bit, especially to pull near 10 seconds overall again st the Evo in just a 90 sec stretch! I like the way they didn't mention any speeds what so ever.

The Noble was only about a second slower than the 4wd grippy 996 Turbo which is a fantastic feat on a B road, and nearly half the price. The suspension collapsed which is the first time they heard of such a problem and least Lee Noble was honest and dealt with it in a very professional manner, just read his letter, that impressed me.

The surprise for me was the new M3, quick on a track as they are, the backend washing out, fun as it was, just reduced the way it covered ground against some of the others. And the Focus RS as grippy as the Evo out of the bends but just lost out on the straights, and what a performance my the little Clio Cup (about £11k imported!)

Very intresting article though, pity they didn't bring along even more cars such as a Sti and CTR.

I couldn't believe that the 911 and M12 were so much quicker than the RS, for example. 16 seconds over a 90 second drive - amazing.

I thought Lee Noble's response was commendable - he was totally upfront and didn't try to hide it under the carpet like a lot of manufacturers might. The car had done 23 trackdays in about 13k miles IIRC - that's some serious punishment.
Hi car is only half the price of the 911, and virtually as good. The name might not yet have the prestige of the Porsche, but it'll hopefully come. I've seen a few on the road now, so people do seem to be buying them.

It's probably the B4355 from near Newtown-Knighton. But their aerial photo map is a fake - there is no such road.

Having been driven down a few similar Broads in a Noble with LSD I can honestley holy F***ing SH** these go around bends like nothing else, and then the owner said that he wasn't using the full potenial. Considering Mole Valley have on up at 35k. What value!

Just out of interest how did you establish that?

P.S. Sometimes I think Autocar should change their name to Photoshopped Cars Weekly.
