Hi Rich, you still around?
As you can see, I bought the RAV4 (at last!). But remember the questions about the reversing sensors? Well, they've only fitted two, one on each corner of the bumper, and we tried it this evening and it won't pick up even a person standing in the centre to the rear of the car, let alone something thinner like a signpost.
I've let the salesman know I am not happy at all, and will be making a complaint that the product is crap if it can't sense. It also doesn't take into account the protruding spare wheel, even though it's sold as a RAV4 accessory. For 300 quid I think that's a duff product.
Didn't you say yours has four sensors? Is it the new shape RAV, not the old one? If so, we'd be interested to hear more - the salesman says he was given some guff about not being able to fit them to the centre of the bumper, but if you've had it done thus proving it's possible, then he will try to wangle two extra sensors.
I'd be grateful for your reply, and even better for photos! If you have any and can't host them, I'll post my email address if you could mail them.
yours in hope
Brendan

Hi Brendan,
I will take a picture of the back of the Rav (bought from main dealer in 2002), and email to you - it will be in a large format as I have not worked out how to reduce pictures.
I hope this helps - pics are on their way - I hope you can see where the sensors are mounted, with 2 of them on the mouting board above the number plate (small round black dots).
Kindest regards - Richard

Can you please send to me also as I've just had them fitted and they are pretty useless. The dealer has now told me they are not parking sensors but corner sensors. That and the sh!te quality paintwork about sums the car up....sh!te. I've owned it five days and its for sale. Toyota are total and utter rubbish, this includes the dealer and head office.

Really? You should be using the address above (bjhughes@netcabo.pt), rather than the profile address? Odd. What's the size of the pics? I can handle a 1MB attachment, sent one last night and got it without problem.
Either that, or let me know what address to write to you, so you can just hit "reply".
