depends what you want if for, not sure if a bec is as friendly on road as a car engined westie, imagine driving at 70mph, probably 6k revs buzzing in your ear in a BEC!

You definately need a Megabusa! I use mine to go to work in regularly, and obviously track days, at which it excels. The noise isn't a problem, all these type of cars are noisey. For me, the real beauty is the sequential gear change as you power through the six gears, gets me every time.

You can always raise the height on the XTR2 for road work - we use ours on the road all the time.

For the blades about 13 secs 1/4 and about the same to 100 mph i reckon, although not certain. Busa would be faster obviously !
Best asking Catflap where ever he is !
Thing is 60 feels like 100, so about 4 secs in that case !

I hire a megablade for a track day and now want one (or a bird/busa), not sure how I am going to get Mrs Tosser to play along but I am going to try.
The car engined ones are I am sure great, but the sound of the bike engine is marvelous.

Just out of interest, how much is one of these megablades new? Im ditching the scoob for an economical diesel and am tempted by one of these BEC's for razzing at the weekends?

Have you guys been watching A Racing Car Is Born on Discovery Home and Leisure 6pm every evening this week ?
I missed the building part but so far he has done a hill climb in it and yesterday was at a track day at donington park.
Well worth watching.

I went from a Scooby to a megablade
Id never go back to a scoob, fro sheer fun and driving enjoyment, the scoob just cant come close (forgetting speed here, just involvement)
Ive seen quicker scoobs, but they don’t look like they are having as much fun as me
As for price, Westfields and caterhams will hold higher prices than many of the other brands, im not even going to get into the debate over what is best, its not fun.
But I paid 10.5k for my Westfield megablde last year, and added around a grand in upgrades, to make it handle, go and stop quicker, combined with some tarty carbon bits.
So I hope mine would fetch around 10k possibly more
I have seen kit car blade from 5k up, some look like buckets of bolts, and others look reasonable.
If looks don’t bother you, consider a locost, if you want something with a bit of prestige (dangerous ground here) get a Caterham, and then a Westfield and then dax and tiger) (that’s just my personal opinion)
Out on the road, and even more so on track, I doubt there is anything between the various makes.
Ive said this to a few people, but blades aint that quick in a straight line, johnto is right, they will do the quarter at around 13 seconds, (13.5 seems a quoted figure used alto)
A scoob with 280bhp will out accelerate you from 60 onwards (ive seen this first hand) And through twistys, a scoob will be quicker too, due to the margin of safety that you’ll keep in a westy vs the sheer grip of the scoob.
On track, westy people seem to pass scoobs right, left and centre
A blade will be cheaper than busa, although if I had the money I know id get the busa
Good luck

May as well jump in... I'm selling my twin Yamaha YZF-R1 engined mini at the mo.
0-60 under 3secs
0-100 under 7secs
345bhp - 600kg's
Theres a few pics of the car part way through the build at www.zcars.org.uk
Cost over £35,000 to be built (only known one in world - so I'm told) serious enquirys or more info to 07990 502883
