VAG PD diesel intercooler hoses
#1
There's a number of cases on the Golf forums of PD diesels (especially the PD150) blowing intercooler hoses off the intercooler, or at best getting boost leakage which causes loss of performance, etc.
On my own Passat 130, the hoses are "secured" by a flimsy spring-wire clip (not even a decent jubilee clip) and it's possible to waggle the hose a little where it joins to the intercooler.
This is due to poor design, rather than a problem with the joint. Does anyone know a way of sealing the joint? PTFE tape or similar? Any ideas? Ta ...

Yep it's getting Upsoluted in the Donington circuit car park, as Simon Coe - the Upsolute guy, hails from up there, and I had a track day booked anyway. The only problem is that after driving a Caterham Superlight round Donny it'll feel sluggish as hell anyway, so I won't get the before and after wow-effect. Will let you know how it goes

Yes it is. They remove the original chip and put a socket in its place, into which they place their chip. This means you can go back to standard fairly easily when you come to sell.
Revo offer programming via the diagnostic port, but they charge big money for it. I'd love to be able to alter the map myself from VAG-COM but it doesn't do it as yet
