Question

Could any of u tell me, is the original speedo which is fitted in Japan on a 92 1.6 roadster (MX5) only calibrated in KPH or does it also have MPH. (i.e. does it have a dual scale) ?

The original japanese fitment is a kph only speedo - it goes up to 180kph (about 110mph). You can buy replacement dial faces which have both a mph and kph scale like uk cars but are calibrated to 110mph rather than 140mph like the UK cars. I think both moss (www.moss-europe.co.uk) and mx-5parts (www.mx-5parts.co.uk) do them. You will need a mph speedo to get through an MOT.

I think it reads to 110 with two pips to indicate 112, where the limiter kicks in
