RS2000 Help needed ??
#1
I have just bought a 93 RS2000, but when I drive it on the motorway at about 60mph + I experience the car sort of swaying from one side to the other when accelerating! so as I have never had a front wheel drive car is this is what is meant by 'Talk steer' or do I have a problem and if so what ? I have already had the tracking done but this did not solve the issue.

was it happening in the inside lane of the Mway?
if so you could be bouncing in and out of the grooves the HGVs leave in the road. My 3-door was really bad for it but I never notice it in the astra.

The 2k is well known for wearing the front bushes out and it sounds just like what has happened in this instance. I'd get someone take a look at the TCA bushes on the front, they're probably shot.
BTW the 2k is a stonking wee car. I've had mine for 2yrs and loved every minute. It's never let me down and it pi55es all over more powerful cars through the twisties. Ok mine is a wee bit up on standard power and a 4x4 but it's still a great feeling to blow away 328 beemers on the county lanes up here in bonnie scotland!
If you want some more info about the 2k try looking at

I should be careful not to talk too much when driving - you might start to wander over the road.
Alternatively, some more powerful FWD cars suffer torque steer under acceleration, but I imagine this would be at much slower speeds.
Perhaps you experienced tramlining?
BTW, I would suggest that a thorough test drive before buying the car would show up any such potential problems.
