the passenger side is sweet but the drivers one hasn't been greased I think

Hi all
I have just got hold of a 90 spec golf GTI 16valve 3 door for my other half and want to change to drivers door hinge pins because they are worn. Has anyone done this before? the pins look like you would knock them out upwards, is this correct?
