My girlfriend has recently bought an MX5 (with a little coaxing from me) but the discs seems to have a rusty film on them which is clearly visible thru the 5 spoke alloys.

I was wondering whats the best way to clean 'em up ?

Its to do with the type of steel used, rusts very quickly but works well, as previous posters have said, braking will remove it unless its been left for ages and its gone pitted, even then harsh brakin will sort it most of the time.
