Glad to see you have made your mind up!!
I would go for Miami Blue, Sorrento Green or maybe a clean Black one...
I think that you should put 15's or maybe 16's on but if you want to keep the pin sharp handling then stay away from 17's...
It just so happens that if you pop into my work (Halfords in Perth) at the moment we have a 20% off sale on wheels which makes them very affordable. We can also get hold of Induction Kits/Cams,etc. I know we have a stack of exhausts through the back as well, not sure if there are any 205 GTi ones but its worth a look.
Cheers,
Grant

Aye, I work at halfords, get a cheeky bit of staff discount too!!
I would go the Exhaust and Induction route first then think about Cams, headwork etc...
I'll keep an eye out for any nice ones in my area for you.
Cheers,
Grant

The sale is on for about a month, you can also take the wheels over a 12 month agreement which saves you a fair bit of money...
As far as lowering goes, I think there is a debate about which drop in ride height is the best for the 205, I would say that no lower than 40mm and you should be fine.
Best thing to do is to give us a call or just pop in and price up the mods your looking for...

Bonny looking car Brun. Identical to my old 1.9. Got a graphite one now, always preferred the red.
Ciaran, save your money fella and leave the car stock. Peugeot did a top job straight out of the box. IMHO of course

Had a 1-off 4" exhaust system, with 1 rear silencer, then a pipe straight through to the front.
Also had JR larger diam induction kit, spitfire plugs etc.
This thing was very very loud

1990 1.9 Sorrento owner myself
Putting on a zorst and filter will do absolutely nothing to the car, you will not get any extra power and in lots of cases they lose you power.
Peugeot got it spot on with the stock systems, induction may give you slightly better throttle response, but no more power, and an exhaust will give you nothing so best to stick to a backbox if you want to change anything.
Only things that will give you power is head work and cams really. Or get a Skip Brown 1.9S conversion.
Hope that helps!

cheers boys think il go for a red or a white one ok!!
but im going to have to add side skirts and a front splitter to at least make it look a wee bit different to all the standard ones around and has to be modded a bit engine wise to beat all the mates xs's cos one of them has a fast one with cams and head work done to it.

why bother faffing about with crappy bolt on bits that don't add anything (and can loose you power esp exhaust and some induction kits ) - 205s respond well to the head being ported or save your money and get an Mi16 conversion for instant 160bhp.

I used to have a last of the line 1993 catted L reg 205 gti 1.9. It was a miami blue model and was mint, this was never as quick as me mums '88 e reg 1.9 due to the fact that mine was catted and had later injectors that are apparently off a 306 xsi. Don't ask me why they did this... I was going to keep it standard until the big end went and meant either having that repaired or a new engine. I sourced an engine from coventry peugeot specialist (which have since gone into liquidation). The engine was a recon unit that had been gas-flowed and had a performance camshaft already fitted... i also had a full de-cat magnex system including a four branch manifold and also a k&n induction kit. Then the car was rolling roaded at the powerzone in padiham it showed a good 165 bhp on the readout... The difference in torque and response was amazing, it felt like a proper racing car... I had got a completly transformed car for around 1500 quid! make these kind of mods and i dont think you'll have a better, cheaper, classier more useable car for the money.
a year later the engine went again...which is now why i drive a subaru wrx!
Hope you enjoyed storytime kids
Andy.

DW have the same induction but Powerflow made me up a 6" exhaust straight through... I have to say it's too loud now! Mine's white but the colour is so common! Bloody thing has seized on me though

DW - It might have been loud but couldnt have been that fast with a mobile phone that size on board!!
That picture was taken in 1997, so that phone (Nokia 501) was state of the art then. At the time, everyone else had those brick Nokia things.
If I do go the 1.9 route now, I will be doing the Mi16 conversion
