Pete,
MX5 OC has been down for some time don't know why. I also use MX5 Mods Forum I have found it to be a little more friendly than the owners club.
What car have you found ?

Allan,
I only wanted a 1.8i and NOT in red!!
I have ended up with (possibly) a 1.6 poverty model from 1995!! in RED!!!! It was simply the best at the price - as its to be a 3rd car I couldn't justify too much of a burden on purchase price!!
It's a UK car, of course, thinking of resale!! it can't drop in price much below what it stands at the moment
So, summer fun at a low price overall, hopefully!!

Yes, very good!!
Let me see, what do YOU drive??
Corrado's, TVR's, + S2000 ...... the first one is, without doubt, a womans car - the second spends 51 weeks in the year broken and the 3rd? well, its ok I suppose ..... but the MX5 is STILL king!!

Allan - thanks, I had been told NOT to get the 1.6i as its underpowered - so, I looked at about 20 MK1's 1.8's, some ok'ish, all with history missing/incomplete, all with dents!!
THEN, a coppa at work rang me and said he had agreed a sale on a 1.8i and he had heard I was looking - would I like to see his? sweetie!!
Anyway, went to see it as it was parked 200 yards away - looked absolutely genuine (Just how they should look!) - I still had to drive it. So, started it from cold - what a sweet, purring engine! - drove off expecting a milkfloat type acceleration ... but NO quite perky, even with the added weight of me in it!!
I didn't want to like it at all, BUT, it drove absolutely straight and beautifully ................ I was SOLD!!!
Anyway, it's having an MOT on Monday - we shall see what happens!
Gastro, hi matey - its the poverty spec mate, just what I wanted - a 3rd car should be cheap and easy to fix!! That means NO toys like airbags, PAS, ABS, Leccy windows and such!!
Price??? Hmmmmmmm, well, its a 1995 1.6i Poverty Model with 60,000miles on it .... so its not a costly version I reckon I am getting it at a bargain price ........... shouldn't drop any lower EVER I wouldn't think!! another IMPORTANT point for a 3rd car - NO Depreciation!!!
RESULT, I reckon!!
Pete
PS Gastro - yes the Escort Cabbie went to Bangkok - HONESTLY!!!! That cost me nothing to run for a year, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! and it was great fun - hairdresser jokes aside
