Paul, that was the 5 or 6 at Elvington, that is the 7, and Si, apparently it is true. Old news though

you will note the negative comment by Paul was in connection with their Older Evo, not their new 7, he just did not read the precise model of the EVo.

I have seen this beastie on a Top speed day @ RAF woodbridge (i.e. when it set the top speed/ 1/4 mile times) Fantastic beastie (771BHP i heard) although I think they run it with lower power most of time (like 700BHP)

Why whenever this car is mentioned is it followed by a negative comment ????
Because, you bleeding pedant, when I saw the "Norris Evo" at Elvington last year it ate a rear diff on the start line in spectacular "shrapnel everywhere" fashion. I was replying in a light hearted (hence the ) manner to a mate of mines question, OK ? Whats it got to do with you? I happen to LIKE Evo's very much, but Ive got a Subaru, but of course you'd know that, having taken the time to find out what my post was actually meant to convey, wouldn't you.

Why, whenever anyone posts anything on Scoobynet, does it have to be follwed by someone who mis-understands the post and replies in a manner which leaves much to be desired, whilst not in the possession of ANY of the pertinant facts, thereby starting ANOTHER un-necessary thread of insult and counter insult?

Why didnt you just ask me what I meant, if it offended you soooooo much? I think its a fookin BEAST of a car, and I'd love it!! But not the running costs or insurance..

Happy now???

LOL, chilling at work, feet up

What IS it with these people??

If Id said "fooking pile of monkey jizz" from a complete position of ignorance, I could understand it.... but to be having a laugh with Si about an event I witnessed, albeit with a differnet car, but STILL a Norris Evo, and get a comment like that.... well... its just priceless

This is the third post recently about the Norris Evo and every thread talks about reliability, its still an Evo, things break bla bla bla. Not aimed at you Buzz but I dont see the need for negative comments on so many posts these days.

I agree with you, but what was your comment meant as, if not a negative "get at the previous poster"?

But you understand what I was posting now, yes?

I suppose when someone posts on Scoobynet about Evo's, arguably direct competitors (although the Evo is more expensve and more powerfull I believe) to each other, both cars have die-hard fans who are absolutely convinced their chosen motor is better than anything else, especially their competition.

So posting on here about Evo's will ALWAYs get a comment slagging it off.

But not from me, I want one of each!

Your new best mate

Paul

Fancy a beer then ?

On an off topic I've been offered a UK Evo VII FQ300 in Black with 7500 miles on a 02 plate with FMSH. The price is £22,500 and this is from the main dealer. If anyone is interested let me know as I can no longer buy the car myself

Said my piece on the other thread . I dont hate EVOs, I went to look at a UK EVO6 and dealer didnt really want to know, gave me a brochure and told me 12 weeks and no demo car, so I brought another scoob. few months back went to look at an E7 and guy sold scoobs and evos, gave me a cracking deal on an E7 and wanted my scoob. It just didnt do it for me TBH so I left it.

I just fed up of this scoobs are crap and must get an EVO. Keep saying this but people dont understand. They are comparing a 215bhp scoob against a 276bhp EVO. Yes they will be blown away, go from a lighter 276bhp scoob to a heavier 276bhp EVO and like me they maybe left a little cold and I am not the only one. I seem to remember Rich Squires felt the same way when he drove one.

I still like EVOs and after all the comments and I think they are very good cars. I could live with the cons they have but I dont see any advantage over my curent car. The same goes for the new scoobs so I think my next motor is going to be German and have at least one 9 in the name

I struggle to believe that even with 715bhp that thing can hit 215mph. It has all the aerodynamic ability of a garden shed.

Stig, no offence m8, but my 6 does over 170mph on 18's and it only produces 360bhp .... aswell as been shaped even more like a brick than the seven.215mph??.. thought it would be more t.b.h.

As previously said in that thread though, Rich's 22 isnt exactly standard now is it.

It's all about individuality Chris, one day you'l figure that out.

RichiW - no taken m8. Just surprised at the figures. Dunno what the cd for a Evo is, but getting over that 200mph mark is bloody hard as the aerodynamics play a major part in holding the car back.

Mine does over 200mph but apparently the mirrors snap off!

Posted this on the last Norris thread, but know one came back to me so I'll try again...

"Sorry just got Jap Performance mag and know know the spec of the turbo tis a GT3240 and according to the HKS website they say 580 PS Output....

Now I'm a complete numptie when it comes to things like that (my mate won;t let me look at cars by myself cause he says I don't know the front from the back) so can anyone please explain to me how the turbo can create another 200bhp over what's stated on there website...well actually over 200 as apparently the Ps output isn't the same as the amount of BHP it can run..."

Cheers
