A bit naughty posting it in here, but it's for sale here and I want it gone ASAP 'cos I've found the car I want to replace it with.

Hi Fen

What're you going to get as a replacement?

Cheers

Mike,

I'm after a 944 S2 Cabrio with enough cash left over to rebuild the 944 Turbo. I've decided I like Porkers the same as you like Scoobies, so why fight it?

Absolutely, but then the Golf with the same running gear is group 14 standard.

Most insurers add about 30%-40% for the mods. Obviously that's only 40% of a reasonably small premium, so it still isn't frightening.

I always wanted a 911, but almost bought an S2 once. Got scared 'cos it was 2nd hand and I wasn't sure about running costs if anything went wrong. Oh well...

Enjoy yours!

So long as they don't need new cams (because the chain has been neglected) the only thing that can bite you is the rubber cushion in the centre of the clutch disintegrating. Brake callipers corrode but my turbo happens to have a set of reconditioned ones that I need to upgrade, otherwise it's high 20's to the gallon and 12k service intervals.
