Question

What sort of price reduction is available on a new or nearly new VX220?

I'm looking at getting one for summer fun

Andy.

Currently 0% finance deals on VX220's.

Spend an afternoon on the phone and haggle hard, you should top that off with a decent discount as well. There are plenty of unsold ones left by all accounts. Something to do with a red & white badge on the front, and not a green & yellow one.

In terms of hard cash, haven't a clue. But as the first rule of economics applies, in this case supply exceeding demand, it becomes a buyers market, gives you a lever. If you don't ask, you don't get. Especially with the seemingly more desirable Turbo imminent.

I know of a non turbo car with 600 miles on the clock going for £18,995 before haggling.

Main dealer too.

Exactly ! They don't appear to have sold too well despite the limited production.

I wonder if the turbo will fair any better ?

Would like the car more than an elise (both not necessarily in my top ten). But the badge and the 'eco'-engine turn me off. Would be better quality and gutsier though.

Have fun

are you paying cash ?, if so would you not be better off going for a used boxster, or a tvr cerbera, or [sothing?] something along those lines.

vx220 is nice but dont seem to have a great following, mind you what do i know ?, i drive a mondeo .

Cash is an option, but when Vauxhall are offering 0% finance this may be too good and offer to refuse!

Given that I'm 21 the VX220 is a bit more wallet-friendly than a TVR or such like.

Andy.
