Question

How would a Mazda MX-5 with a 230bhp turbocharged engine handle?

Fun or just bloody dangerous?

Would you need to upgrade any of the running gear?

old shape or new shape, there is an australian company producing turbo'd ones, think it is owned by prodrive, i'm also sure it was talked about on here not that long ago.

Think it made about 200bhp and they say the chassis is well up to it

Thumbs up

There was also a Mazda approved BBR conversion that chucked out a lot of power. Well received by all accounts.

Cheers

Hmmm

Anyway, I can only speak for the Mk1, the diff is better on the 1.8 for that much power apparently, the 1.6 engine is strong enough since it's out of a 323 turbo (minus the turbo), should be good for 200bhp but I probably wouldn't want to go much further than that, I'd also upgrade the gearbox as well. Any specs on that MkII abve? Oh yeah try actually reading Stevie mate

Steve.

These things are getting more common. Done using the MiataLink (as in MX-5 version of PossumLink).

They go very well.
