Forced into selling my P1 later this year in order to save up for a house deposit (no way on earth can save whilst paying p1 loan off, insurance + running).

So what on earth is a decent 4k ish car, diesel, looks good, reasonable insurance (anything less than 1200 will be reasonable lol) Not too concerned on the mileage as step-dad is a diesel mechanic.

Only reasonable car i can think of is an A3 Tdi 1.9 and i doubt i will get one of those for remotely 4k

Advice and comments please!

The new audi A3 is due for release in the near future, do you think this might affect/reduce the prices of the current model?

Due to your limited budget the only cars I can think of would be Pug HDI 306's. Not sure if your budget will stretch to that but the Turbo D is a good car -if you must have diesel that is.

I always liked the 306 D Turbo's but lately the model has started to look pretty dated, not sure on it anymore!

The Octavia i actually thought of, but the **** taking from going to a Skoda from a P1 will be fairly nuts! :P

Anyone got any experience with Seat's? (cheap golf aint it?)
