Just gave my S3 the REVO-TECHNIC treatment!

WOW! My car has turned from a civilised quickish car into a real beast!
I am now running about 265 bhp and 270lb/ft of torque! I am quite shocked by the difference!
Any TT or S3 boys around who have not been chipped yet - go and see Mitchell at Revo-Technic if you want to skin a few Civic Type-R's etc.

Goto http://www.revotechnik.com for their website. The price including VAT is £586.
You get a multi-program chip which has low boost and high boost settings. I am on low boost 4 out of nine which is about 1.2-1.3 bar boost. It can be raised to levels of your own choice for more bhp using a control box.
Basically the REVO team plug a laptop into a com port under the dash, upload the program and then check for errors. This takes about 2 minutes and you don't even need to lift the bonnet!
Then you go out for a spin to log data and make sure all is fine, and then you drive home with a massive smile on your face!
The chip is encrypted so that dealers cannot detect it and if you like the chip can be put into standard mode to see what you are missing.
I have only had the chip remap at the moment which is enough for now and to be quite honest the remap has effected the economy to a certain degree. If you boot it the fuel goes down a lot faster but that is an obvious statement. On my 120 mile trip home I averaged 33mpg with a mix of cruising at 70-80mph and a few spirited runs! I think the chip has actually optimised the engine when it is running constantly.
I was a bit aprehensive about the whole thing because I did not want to damage the engine but I feel that my worries were unfounded. There is no need to got past 6K now because there is such a spread of power available even though it will keep going to 7300rpm if you wish.
It has really turned the S3 from a reasonably quick car to one that is pretty formidable. It is now significantly faster than a standard S4.

Doubt that it will be 'significantly' quicker than a standard S4...standard they are 265 BHP & 315 lb/ft so even if the car is 200Kg heavier you wont get away by much...
Of course you can chip the S4 and get 330BHP & 380lb/ft...which may be a 'tad' faster than a modded S3

Hehe, I thought you might like to comment Jeff!
The standard S4 has 295lb/ft - not 315. I have driven both and the S3 is definately quicker. It certainly does not have the low down urgency and driveability of the S4 but it is faster.
The chipped S3 will do the 1/4 0.4 seconds quicker than the S4 - which to me is significant.
Don't get me wrong - I would exchange my 1.8t for your 2.7 anyday!
turboman786, the chip is £586 including VAT.

Just been out for another long drive and she is still getting faster!
Funnily enough I had a run in with a new M3. He beat me fair and square - but not by that much. I used to get my **** handed to me on a plate!
