Alfa 156 JTD - Anyone owned one of these ?
#1
I've read the road tests and (as usual) the only thing that puts me off is Alfa Reliability / resale.
With 5 cylinders and 150 bhp (later model) standard there's good rechip potential.
Anyone owned one or want to frighten me off one ?!

I have a 156 - wouldn't recommend them but very stylish for the money. JTD is meant to be a good engine.
Electronics etc are poor. My alarm went off the other day as I was driving along!

I have run a 156 from new for 12 months now. Not had one single problem.
Veloce 4 door moels have Eibach springs and Bilstien dampers giving good handling but as firm a ride as a scoob, go for the Lusso if you want comfort.
Pre 2002 facelift JTD were 140bhp. New 2.4 20valve deisel due soon with 170bhp.
Sound very sporty for a deisel and rev almost like a petrol.
