Had some time on my hands unexpectedly yesterday, so test drove a Jap Import 1992 Lotus Elan SE turbo in red. I was pretty impressed, for a 11 year old it went really well, and it had a huge aftermarket stainless steel exhaust on it which made it sound like it was rear engined. It was running on new Goodyear Eagle F1s and seemed pretty stuck to the road, couldn't get understeer from it on the national limit B road I tried it on. It also had a HKS turbo timer, which seemed to have replaced the built in boost gauge which had been disconnected.

I'm not in the market for a fun car just yet - got to shift my house first - but it was an interesting drive, and only £10k although the dealer indicated he'd be responsive to haggling.

I'm probably not interested in one (although I am a sucker for the pop up headlights), and certainly wouldn't go the import route as UK cars can be had for this money. Just in case though, anyone else owned / tried one?

Simon.
