V-reg? Is that the R34? If it's a GTS-t then 280ps. GTS is just 200ps.

Suppose it would be a fair battle then as my car weights 1280kg and has 262bhp and 237lb-ft..!! and a skyline is about 1480kg....!!!!

Yep, GT-S weighs around 1430Kg. Manufacturer's performance figures, IIRC, were: 0-60 in mid-5s, 0-100 in mid-15s

yes the gt-r is the really quick one. basically it has 4wd and twin turbo whilst the gts-t has 2wd and only one turbo

still 250hp+ though so it's no slouch

hasnt the GTR twin tubo got 276 bhp due to jap regulations??? the GT-S must have less as its a single turbo!

Why? A twin-turbo Legacy has 276bhp, but a single-turbo Impreza WRX has the same power. A single-turbo STi or 22B might well have more power. The number of turbos has no direct bearing on the power output. The Skyline GT-R is nominally rated at 276bhp because that's the max that Japanese law allows. Doesn't stop people modding them to more than 1000bhp

'Offically' no jap cars exceed 280(or so)bhp. Then they can say, oh it developes 300 does it sir? how strange

I suspect the Skyline would 'naturally' have much more power than a 280 bhp scoob but de-tuned a lot more. Thus it's easy to just chip it without too much bother to high bhp. Many other cars would need other components upgraded to ensure reliability as they wouldn't be detuned, if you get my meaning

It was quick and gave me an equal match... but the guy had been driving around my town like a nutter the previous night, overtaking me at about 50mph in a 30mph busy town centre, when i had the birds mum and dad in the car...

When i saw him i was behind him and he signaled to go straight on onto a dual carriage way which is a notorious stretch of road... He sped off and seemed a little supprised that my little WRX kept up, by the look on his face when i pasted him at the next juction when i was off a different way...

It must have had 280bhp.... i think it was a 2001 V reg model and no it was not a GT-R...
