That GT4 belongs to a good mate of mine Ian Hammond. It is a shame he is selling to be honest (wife forces sale I think ) as it is a cracking car and bloody quick with it. I've watched that car go from an almost standard setup with bodykit up to the monster it is now. Shame.
If I had the money, it would be mine, oh yes.

Have a hunt around motorsport sites and get yourself a motoring news. Good luck in getting one, cracking wee cars.
Oh and the engine is apparently copied from a Ford BDA...
Theres a few on www.findit.co.uk

The AE86's are great cars.. finding a good one is hard work... especially one that hasn't been thrashed.. had a few in the past myself...
There's one in the Autotrader up at £4000 bit much although it sound like a proper car with full history also... worth haggling over if its a proper one u are after...
Same colour as my old one silver/grey (pic below)..... (although i bought this one over 2 years ago for £600 130k very clean car)
Wish i hadn't sold it now
Raf.

I also had one, great car and yes the engine is coppied from a BDA engine. Loads have gone to ireland where donut competitions can be seen most nights, wheels always changed to 13" though. Fensport had mine of me 4 years ago, then they were not so rare, saw a few on findit a few weeks ago but enquired about them and had been sold

If Toyota did copied from the BDA, then Cosworth had missed a great opportunity. That 4A-GE engine powered a huge variety of cars, from Corollas to Celicas to MR2s. Toyota retired that engine in 2000 to coincide the introduction of the E12x series Corolla, & a large number of variants of that engine were made in its 18 year lifespan. Cosworth could have sold their original design to car manufacturers at a very handsome price.
BTW, are there any AE86 Sprinter Truenos in UK? & for those who have watched Initial D, which engine did Takumi's dad put in the car when it's original 4A-GE blew up? Was it a Tom's F3 engine?

According to the movie (ID 3rd Stage) it was a 1.6l TRD Grp A engine with 240bhp, not sure whether its correct or nto as I haven't seen much of the series.
skiddus_markus - Initial D is Japanese Drift cartoon & comic.

You want to get over to www.japmobiles.com/japukmeets and speak to Simon Michael about these. He used to have the TRD 1.6 supercharged version pushing out 174bhp. Has since sold the engine from it but still has the car with a standard 120bhp twincam lump in.
Si and his mates ( U must have heard of Lex) were one of the first lot to see Initial D and publisice it in the UK so much so that a lot of people have now seen and know about it. They also help start up the drift days with Option etc which are now held regulary.

Clarence, I thought the 4A-GE was still going strong in the Japan only 4-cyl IS200, IIRC one was campaigned, badged as a Lexus, by a privateer in the new look BTCC last year.

There is one advertised here:
http://www.rallyusedparts.co.uk/showcarsbydate.cfm (scroll down a bit)
The advert was put added on 6 May, so I would not be surprised if it had gone already.. - or, judging by the info on it, that the person wants much ££££ for it.
Greg.

The engine in the Altezza is a 3S-GE, not a 4A-GE. The engine in the BTCC car is also based on the 3S-GE.
The A-series engine was consigned to the history books with the advent of the current Corolla.
Btw, the UK Lexus IS200 uses the 1G-GE engine, totally different from the 3S-GE in Japan.

Come over to Northern Ireland and go to the first technical college you see.The car park will be full of them.As far as I know the council now build diffing areas to the rear of all technical colleges over here.
