GREAT brakes, Great Gearbox, reliable(strange for a FIAT) engine, Standard turbo can hold up to 350bhp, LSD diff
And he will probably buy one for very little money, as the depreciation is TITANIC

If you have a standard UK car or even lightly modified you'll be bang in trouble on the motorway above 60mph

The cambelt change is about a £1000 'cos it's an engine out job- just like a Ferrari! Zorsts are also pretty pricey. Other than that the only other real cost will be a set of new fronts every 6 or 7,000 miles. Petrol etc is very similar to a Scoob. I was going to buy one of these but their fragility (FIATS make Subaru build quality look good) put me off. Nice cars to drive though and pretty fast- having said that I trashed one from a standing start from the Autoroute Peage- he must have taken a least couple of MM's of his fronts judging by the plumes of smoke that I saw in my rear view mirror!

Damn good 3-4 year old car to buy. As has been said the depreciation is scary on these - some are group 20 insurance.
A friend has a 2000 model fully loaded and cost more than 25k.
He would be lucky to get 8-9k as the market stands , but a good car for the money.

Thumbs down

A guy a work's got one - pretty quick, nice looking car, but typical Fiat reliability - 76k miles and it's on its second turbo, and just in for a rebuild as one of the pistons has lost compression...

Really good cars. Had one for 18-months but the repair cost were always £500 plus.

Despite that, they are very quick cars. They're quicker to 100 mph than a standard Scoob by over 1-second, and considering its 0-60 time is 6.5s, it gives you some idea of the 60-100mph performance.
