You might get a better response if you post in general rather than "other marques" anyway have a look at http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm For model history and spec
Oh and Petey they did a uk version of the 22B. 16 were offically imported to the UK by Subaru. The P1 is the uk version of the STI V type R

Basically the 2 door jap imports are the WRX STI Type R and Type RA
The P1 is a detuned version of the Type R with suspension matched for UK roads (it a bit less jiggly) - you are quite correct in thinking that the 2 door is the only scoob worth having

markr, see your RX7 post, get one of them!! Type-R's are very quick etc, but you do read as many probs with them as with RX7's, minus the 70k rebuild, but then its slightly offset by any cambelt replacement on a boinger at around that time anyway.
I say RX7 vs Type-R = RX7 for sure!!

Does anyone know much about the scooby type r. i really want a 2dr car and the only 2 uk ones are the p1 and 22b which are still far too expensive for me. so any info would be great thanks
