Cup progress report

I have now done 402 miles in my cup. Just basically familierised myself with it.
All I can say it handles like a dream, there is loads of feed back and the car is so easy to place.
Cant really rag the ***** off it yet as Im following the running in procedure.
Jusy filled it up tonight with optimax (Dealer prob put normal unleaded in it) so I will tell you if the car runs smoother/faster. Is there and ECU reset procedure?
When it gets to 1k miles I will change the oil then again at 6k miles, I know the dealer says 12k miles but I feel its a bit too long. What oil is already in my car say if I need a top up? Also what oil would you guys recomend changing it to (Castrol Magnatec 10 40W?)
Thanks!!

Hey Scott i'm looking to get a 172 in the next week or so, the problem i'm having is choosing between the sport and the cup. The dealer prices are £12995 for the cup and £14595 for the sport. Would you say the cup is a better buy even though it has less spec?
i have seen the sports advertised for £12495 at car supermarkets but i think these are imports, probably lower spec?
cheers

I would get a cup, do you really want all the electric stuff?
What you want is one of the fastest best handling hatches so get the cup.
Renault Sport are bringing loads of upgrades out for the Cup, So you can mod it and it wont effect yor warranty. GET ONE.
I got mine for 11995, Its a full UK car not a pre reg.
Nearly done 1k miles now and Im sure its getting faster.\

I reckon you should stick to semi-sythetic because of the type of engine. I've a a VTS on a y reg with 55,000 miles on it and i've always used semi-sythetic. It blows a bit of smoke and uses probably more oil then it should but the engine feels loose and fluid. Don't bother runnin it in either, the wear difference is minimal ie oil and smoke as i've mentioned but as they say "a ragged engine is a quick engine!"
